Action Sudbury launched the, “Third Annual Action Sudbury’s Safe
Graduation Campaign” on May 3, 2000. The event commenced at 10AM and ended at
1:30pm at the Bell Park Amphitheatre.
Action Sudbury arranged buses to transport the students from
the Secondary Schools to the Third Annual Action Sudbury’s Safe Graduation
Campaign at Bell Park Amphitheatre.
John Kennedy from the “New Z103” Radio Station was the
Master of Ceremonies.
Speakers included:
Ed Erion, United Church Minster who knows what it’s like to
lose a child in a motor vehicle accident. In fact, Rev Erion lost two children
in two separate accidents involving impaired drivers!

“Though I’m retired, I get called for
a lot of funerals,” he said. “The toughest ones are for young people,
whether it’s suicide or motor vehicle accidents. We want you to do well at
school, go on and get good grades, good jobs and have children.”

performing anti-dinking and driving Skits.
The Evolutionary Band, this 24-piece
band from Northeastern Secondary School has four Vocalists, a seven-piece rhythm
section, four trumpets, four trombones, two alto saxes and four tenor
saxophones. Evolutionary is in its seventh year and has recorded a CD, which has
been played on CBC Radio, Q92 and Z103! The Evolutionary Band is the Music
Ambassador for Action Sudbury.
