Booze & Snow- Don't Go!

• 75% of all fatal snowmobile accidents in Ontario are Alcohol and Speed related. Do not Drink & Drive! 

• Since the conception of S.T.O.P., the Sudbury Area S.T.O.P. officers, have attended ten fatal accidents. Not all the fatal accidents listed below, had alcohol involvement!

• Kukagami Lake area, snowmobile struck a tree, (passenger fatality injured & driver injured).
• Capreol, a car struck a snowmobile, (driver fatality injured).
• Capreol, a snowmobile struck a tree, (driver fatality injured & passenger injured).
• Garson, a snowmobile struck a hydro pole, (driver fatality injured & passenger injured).
• Cameron Lake, a Snowmobiler lost control at high speed, (driver fatality injured).
• White Water Lake, two snowmobiles collided, (both drivers were fatality injured, in addition one rescuer suffered a fatal heart attack at the accident scene. two passengers were injured)
• Near the Town of Espanola. The incident involved a crash between a snowmobile and a truck on Penage Lake Road. The snowmobile driver was fatality injured.
• Onaping Lake, a snowmobile struck a rock along the shoreline, and the driver was fatality injured.
• Fairbanks Lake, two snowmobilers broke through the ice,  a lake resident rescued the passenger and the driver drowned.
• Onwatin Lake, a snowmobiler struck a tree along the shoreline and the driver was fatality injured.
